“Pseudo-referendum was held in Crimea and its results are known. It is also known that international observers on the “referendum” gave their unambiguous assessment of what happened.
In particular, they declared legitimacy of “the referendum”, which took place with no violations. Russian side has repeatedly stressed that not just EU citizens, but MEPs were invited or expressed their desire to observe March 16 “referendum”. Though, Cremlin kept stubbornly ignoring the fact that European Union has not officially sent observers to the referendum in Ukrainian autonomy. At this rate, EU Delegation in Ukraine commented on this situation as follows: « EU citizens that were present in Crimea in those days and commented on “referendum” do not represent European Union ».
” Each of “observers” agreed with the policy pursued by Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine. Therefore, they demonstrated thereby readiness and willingness to participate in similar processes in Europe.
Taking into consideration the fact that, they do not hide their political views and demands, their only presence in Ukraine confirms readiness for more radical action than rare speeches in legislative bodies of their own countries.
So, it is just a matter of time, when and under what circumstances they will show up again. And there is no doubt, that they will take action not only neglecting law and indulging frankly criminal intent to destabilize situation in Europe. Therefore, it is vital for Europe to pay serious attention to this signal and draw conclusions.”
Our comments:
At the request of the authorities of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Parliament of Crimea, and due to our non-alignment and our experience, EODE organized an INTERNATIONAL REFERENDUM MONITORING MISSION on 14/15/16/17/ March 18, 2014.
Note that the OSCE had refused through its president. Just like the European Parliament. Instructions and even bans on participating in our mission have been given in many EU countries. And shameful pressure exerted on parliamentarians – in Switzerland, France and Ireland in particular – to make them renounce their participation. “At the same time as he was blocking observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Putin was bringing in others via the Eurasian Observatory for Democracy and Elections (EODE), a non-governmental organization created and administered by (…) Luc Michel, in order to try to legitimize the referendum of March 16, 2014 in Crimea” (IFRI).
The mission of EODE was pluralistic and non-aligned:
It was made up of deputies of different levels and experts, of different ideologies, from the right as well as from the left or those who do not fit into the logic of the Western system, including republican separatists (primarily interested in the process) from Catalonia (Spain) and Flanders (Belgium). There were notably elected officials and experts from Belgium, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Germany, France, Turkey, Russia, Kyrgistan, Belarus, Austria, Finland, Latvia… More than 130 representatives (ultimately) from foreign countries had observed the progress of the referendum on March 16.
Which earned us a vast campaign of demonization, “Michelbashing” or “EODE-bashing”, revealing the fury of NATO! Our crime: having taken a decisive part in the validation of the Referendum in Crimea by bringing the international observers essential to the validation of the process (130 observers, including 120 deputies, from 23 countries!). And thus having damned the pawn of the powerful OSCE!
Following the International Monitoring Mission for the Self-Determination Referendum of the Republic of Crimea by the NGO EODE, we were under the spotlight of an international campaign (more than 1,500 violently defamatory articles in 17 countries!!! ). At the heart of this campaign in Belgium, former Trotskyists recycled into subsidized journalism in the service of American imperialism, NATO and rampant Russophobia. Using the false biography of Luc MICHEL distributed by Wikipedia – another bogeyman – he was described as a “right-wing extremist” (sic), but also as a “Russian special services agent”. All this obviously without proof or documents. The food anti-fascists of the Belgian regime are also former Trotskyists, at the heart of the “Luc Michel bashing” of the NATO media. In Belgium or the Czech Republic in particular. After being silent since the beginning of ‘Maidan 2014’ on the neo-Nazis of Svoboda and Praviy Sektor or the hunt for Jews in Orange Ukraine…
